Yuki's First Solo

Congratulations to Yuki Hayashi on accomplishing his First Solo this month!

The sun was low on the horizon in the late afternoon, and winds were right down the runway at 8-10 knots. Perfect day for a first solo!

Yuki and I went up in the pattern for a couple of touch and goes before we requested a full-stop, and taxied back to the ramp for the moment every new student pilot is waiting for...

Yuki completed three smooth touch-and-goes followed by a glorious full-stop landing on Runway 29 at KSBP.

It is always a great honor for me as a CFI to be able to share the joy of reaching major milestones in aviation.

Yuki is a stand-out student who began his flight training with his Private Pilot Written Exam already completed, motivated to fly often and earn his wings. His passion for flight and determination to become a skilled aviator is inspiring for everyone around him.

Yuki gracefully balances his flight training schedule with a demanding course load at Cal Poly SLO, where he also competes on the Cal Poly SLO Swim and Dive team. His commitment to excellence shows in every smooth approach, and buttered landing.

All of us at Pacific Sky Aviation are very proud of his latest big accomplishment: Flying an airplane solo!
